Lucy Vivor's newest single gives a bold impression that burns itself into your brain.

Lucy Vivor is back with her first single since her debut album e.u.p.d came out in 2021. With a fresh new sound brought in by producer Aza, the static filled track complements Lucy’s lyrical genius. The complex and syncopated drums (played by Eevie Taylor) brings a complicated beat for Lucy to rap over. However, without missing a beat she completes the track flawlessly. Even when playing live at the Boileroom ,which i had the honour of seeing earlier this month, she performed the song like it was a classic she'd been performing for years.

Lucy has never been one to shy away from writing her truths in her song and this song is no exception. The song holds a twisted feel of nostalgia, unheard in any of her other tracks. “Shrink therapy, ink therapy, any sort of therapy” is a stand out line from the chorus for me that resonates throughout the whole song. The lines of the chorus (particularly that line)stand out as performed with such aggression and emotion in the chorus compared to the more laid back delivery at the beginning.

All in all this is a modern masterpiece in comparison to artists such as Nf. I am truly excited to hear what Lucy does next.
