With a shining debut single 'Fleeing', Moxai are a band to keep an eye on.

New to the scene, Moxai released their debut single “Fleeing”. The band, based in Devon, consists of three fabulous females and one lovely lad, fronted by Cerys Hemmings. The band played at Alt-fest last november and we've been waiting for music ever since… Now here it is.

The song is reminiscent of Siouxsie and the Banshees as well as The Cranberries with vocals similar to classic stars like Madonna. Something very nostalgic about all aspects of the song. Vocal, band and production all scream mid 80’s post punk. Mixing some wicked bass runs in the chorus, crazy power behind the vocals while keeping true to the lighter vocal tone she carries. The introduction reminds me of “Spellbound” and definitely hooks me in with the ethereal first few bars. However when the rest of the song follows in with the rest of the band the tonal shift makes me want to get up and dance.

Sitting at 2:52, I wish it was longer. The debut sits as a promising start to this band career and with the right promotion and push by fans i can see them being a huge name in the female rock community. I see so much potential in this band and I cannot wait to hear future tracks.
